SigenStor: the 5-in-1 residential platform
SigenStor is Sigenergy's flagship residential system, integrating a hybrid PV inverter, modular LFP battery storage, an intelligent energy gateway, power conversion (EMS) and an optional DC EV charger into a single, floor-standing IP66 cabinet. The design replaces what would traditionally be three or four separate boxes on your wall with one cohesive, expandable unit — indoor or outdoor.
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Core functions | Hybrid PV inverter · LFP battery · Energy gateway · EMS · Optional DC EV charger |
| Inverter output | 3 kW – 12 kW single-phase; three-phase variants available (5–25 kW) |
| Battery modules | SigenStack plug-and-play packs — ~5.84 kWh and ~9.04 kWh usable per module |
| Total capacity | From 5.84 kWh up to ~52.56 kWh per SigenStor unit, expandable over time |
| Battery chemistry | LFP (LiFePO₄) — safest lithium chemistry for home use |
| PV input | Up to 25 kW DC, multiple MPPTs for split roofs / east–west arrays |
| Inverter efficiency | Up to 97.6% peak |
| Ingress rating | IP66 — full indoor or outdoor installation, no enclosure required |
| Backup (EPS) | Whole-home or essential-circuit backup via Sigenergy Gateway, automatic changeover |
| Warranty | 10 years product & performance (battery and inverter) |
| Installation type | Floor-mounted; supports new DC-coupled solar or AC-coupled retrofit |
Safer LFP battery chemistry
Every Sigenergy battery module uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells. Compared with older NMC chemistry, LFP is significantly more thermally stable, has a longer cycle life and tolerates deeper daily discharges — making it the safest choice for a battery mounted inside your home or garage.
- Long cycle life: designed for 6,000+ full charge/discharge cycles
- High usable capacity: up to 100% depth of discharge with minimal degradation
- Round-trip efficiency: ~95% AC–AC across the SigenStor stack
- 10-year warranty: covered for both product defects and retained capacity
SigenEV: integrated DC EV charging
The optional SigenEV charger clips directly into the SigenStor stack, giving you up to 25 kW DC ultra-fast charging at home — much faster than a typical 7 kW AC wallbox. Because it's DC-coupled to your solar and battery, energy skips the extra AC/DC conversions and goes straight into the car's pack.
- Solar-first charging: automatically prioritises free PV over grid import
- Bidirectional-ready: hardware capable of V2H / V2L / V2G as UK standards mature
- Faster top-ups: up to 25 kW DC vs 7 kW AC on a standard charger
mySigen app & AI energy management
The mySigen app is the brain of the system. It handles commissioning, live monitoring, and — crucially — AI-driven optimisation that learns your household's usage and the price signals of your tariff. On smart tariffs like Octopus Agile, Flux or Go, mySigen automatically charges from the grid during the cheapest half-hour windows and discharges (or exports) during peak-price windows.
- Live PV, battery, home and EV energy flow visualisation
- Smart tariff scheduling for Octopus Agile / Flux / Go and similar
- Whole-home or essential-circuit EPS backup with automatic changeover
- Remote installer diagnostics for faster support
Compatibility & installation options
- Single-phase & three-phase: models available for standard UK homes and larger properties
- New DC-coupled solar: hybrid inverter and battery in one — no extra kit needed
- AC-coupled retrofit: add SigenStor to any existing PV array, regardless of the original inverter brand
- Indoor or outdoor: IP66 cabinet — ideal for UK garages, utility rooms or exterior walls
Sigenergy vs Tesla, GivEnergy & Fox ESS
| System | Key strength | Where Sigenergy stands out |
|---|---|---|
| Sigenergy SigenStor | All-in-one: PV, battery, EMS, gateway, optional DC EV charging | Most integrated ecosystem; IP66; modular from ~6 to 50+ kWh |
| Tesla Powerwall 3 | Brand recognition, 13.5 kWh integrated PV inverter + battery | Sigenergy is more modular and includes DC EV charging option |
| GivEnergy AIO | UK-focused, all-in-one 13.5 kWh unit, mature installer base | Sigenergy offers larger stackable capacity and DC EV integration |
| Fox ESS EP-series | Competitive pricing, wide installer network | Sigenergy is the premium, more integrated whole-home platform |
Sigenergy pricing in the UK (2026)

Sigenergy FAQs
Is SigenStor a battery or an inverter?
It is both. Sigenergy markets SigenStor as a 5-in-1 platform combining hybrid PV inverter, LFP battery storage, energy management, backup gateway and optional DC EV charging in one modular cabinet.
Can I start small and expand the battery later?
Yes. SigenStor is modular via the SigenStack design — plug-and-play battery modules (approx. 5.84 kWh and 9.04 kWh usable) can be stacked and expanded over time, typically up to around 52–54 kWh per unit.
Can Sigenergy be installed outdoors in the UK?
Yes. The cabinet is rated IP66, so it can be installed indoors or outdoors without a separate weatherproof enclosure — ideal for UK garages, garden walls and utility rooms.
Does Sigenergy work as a retrofit to my existing solar panels?
Yes. SigenStor supports AC-coupled retrofit to existing PV arrays as well as new DC-coupled solar + battery installations, so it suits both new builds and upgrades.
Does it provide whole-home backup during a power cut?
Yes, when configured with the Sigenergy Gateway the system provides an Emergency Power Supply (EPS) that automatically isolates from the grid and powers essential or whole-home circuits from the battery and solar.
What battery chemistry does Sigenergy use?
Sigenergy uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP / LiFePO₄) — the safer, more thermally stable chemistry widely used for home storage.
What warranty do you get with Sigenergy?
Sigenergy provides a 10-year product warranty on the battery and inverter system. Our MCS-certified installation also includes an insurance-backed workmanship guarantee.
Does the mySigen app support Octopus tariffs like Agile and Flux?
Yes — the mySigen app includes smart tariff optimisation that can charge from the grid during cheap off-peak windows (e.g. Octopus Agile/Flux/Go) and discharge or export at peak times to maximise savings.
How much does a Sigenergy system cost installed in the UK?
As a guide, a ~5 kWh system is typically £6,000–£9,000 installed, ~10 kWh is £8,500–£13,000, and ~15 kWh is £11,000–£16,500. Prices include 0% VAT on residential installs until March 2027 and vary with PV size, EV charger and complexity.
Is Sigenergy eligible for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)?
Yes. As an MCS-certified installer we register your system so you qualify for SEG payments from suppliers such as Octopus, E.ON and OVO for the surplus solar you export.
